Mobile Pet Grooming in 2020
For starters: everything that a pet owner was not able to do in-home setting, we at Mobile Grooming can do and make your pet smell good and look good. Let’s start with haircuts, there are two types basically: regular cuts and show cuts. The first one is the one that is comfortable for the pet owner, looks good, and comfortable for a pet, let’s say a doggie, although cats get haircuts also, but that we will explain later.
The cut that will be esthetically comfortable and suitable for a given pet. The show grooming is a different and complicated field of work. It requires precise advanced skills, where a groomer is independently trained for an individual breed. Besides a groomer must be a well-trained anatomist to understand the pluses and minuses of the dog ( yes, mostly in regards to the safety of both). It is a very rare complicated task. Usually, mobile pet groomers are not trained adequately in this field. …

Most grooming tracks have a solid carried supply of clean water, which is carried in a 50 -70-gallon water tanks around local neighborhoods. Water heaters are there to make sure that the water is always warm, especially during the cold winter season. An abundant supply of different shampoos ( our mobile pet grooming service carries non-toxic hypoallergenic shampoos and conditioners, tear-free) ,4 pairs of scissors, a clipper machine, 4 pin brushes, a great ear cleaner ( please not, it works really well and the Mobile Pet Spa d.b.a. has been using this cleaner for 14 years now, folks, it works!) .
Our high-velocity blow dryer has a warm free-flowing air stream, and can be adjusted to a reduced velocity to accommodate smaller pets and especially …cats! You can imagine them liking water ( xo xo), but that is from another blog post. Our grooming table is wide and comfortable. The environment is clean and sanitized after each animal.
Things you might want to know
Appointments are easily done via our phone line, or by email. Usually 2-3 days in advance. Sometimes we do have the same day appointments, but during the busy holiday season, we are very busy. You can try calling us and ask for an appointment if it is an emergency. One of the recent emergencies was a skunk bath for a dog in Sherman Oaks, my God, that dog smelled… The owner and the whole house smelled. The skunk did not leave his/her name ( haha ) but our mobile pet grooming spa did an excellent job in removing skunk oils off. That was tough and required a special recipe. Hopefully, the skunk will never return.
Honestly, to work with animals is the most gratifying job in the world. And a rewarding one, unless you get bitten or scratched). Depending on a dog or a cat, appointments could take anywhere from 45 min to an hour, mobile pet spa works late sometimes to accommodate clients. We don’t use cages. Sometimes a client brings a cat out in a carrier, cats are known as escape artists. Grooming cats require a lot of expertise, especially a Lion Cut, and not many mobile pet grooming businesses offer these services.
Each service includes: nails trimmed, ears cleaned, glands expressed, flea check, and baths. We also offer medicated baths and skunk baths. Some haircuts cost extra. Sanitary trim is always included in our services. Please ask. Some fleas and ticks are easily removable, but in early stages, id a tick is deep inside the skin, we will refer you to your local veterinarian.
All grooming services are done by the same person, so your four-legged friend is used to the same human. That is very important.
