Other remedies
You can make your own flea spray at home. Surprised? Well. Here it is . It’s great to use on your dog, especially if you don’t want to use chemicals on your dog, or it has a weak immune system.
Recipe number one:
You need:
lemon slices – water.
Pint of water, boil with 2 lemons, slice them up though, let it stay overnight for absorption. Put it in a spray bottle ( plastic works really well). This mixture works really well on fleas, but not well on ticks, so
Recipe number two:
apple cider vinegar –
lavender or peppermint oil –
Put one half of cider vinegar into a plastic spray bottle and fill the other half with water, it stinks ( a bit), but works great. It works, its natural. You can add some peppermint oil to cover the smell a bit. Yeah, it will take a few day for your new stinky dog to smell fresh again, but hey, its natural and, you guessed it, it’s free. Telling you, works like a charm.
Here is a “Thank You” note from someone re the recipe :
“I just applied this on my 2 year old doggy, hated the smell but enjoyed the “game” of being sprayed outside, once I turned her on her back I could see the fleas congregating to the hairless part of her stomach and I could pick them off! What a great instant remedy, that is chemical free, cheap and actually works. This is how you get rid of fleas on your pet.”
We have remedies for cats too, yep. Will be in our future articles.
A tip: during hot summer season make sure to leave a bowl fresh cool water for your pet, in fact leave a lot. For multiple pets leave a few, put some ice cubes in there, so its stay cool. Great hydration leads to great health for all.
